Hakan Güngör

Hakan Güngör was born in Ankara in 1973. He started his music education with his father Ali Osman Güngör, an oud player at TRT and Ankara Radio. Hakan took qanun lessons from Özkan Kayhan. In 1990, he entered the Music Department at Gazi University. Two years later, he left the school and continued his studies at the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory, where he studied Turkish and Western musical styles with prominent teachers.

Since 1993, Güngör has performed qanun in many concerts and recorded CDs with world renowned musicians. He performed as a soloist in the world premiere of a Fazıl Say′s work in Turkey and Germany. Güngör currently teaches at Haliç University and presents “Müzik Deyince” program for TRT Music Channel.
