İdil İlkin was born in Istanbul. After graduating from the Department of Arts Management at Yeditepe University in 2002, she studied Art History at University of Glasgow in London in 2003. In 2005, she joined museum expert training project in the Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation. İlkin obtained her master′s degree in Fine Arts at the University of the Arts London, Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2010. In 2014, she held her first solo exhibition "Landing Clearance" at the Galerist in Istanbul; and has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. İlkin currently lives and works in Istanbul.
