Latife Tekin was born in Karacahevenk village, Kayseri in 1957. She moved to Istanbul with her family at the age of nine. After attending Beşiktaş High School for Girls, she worked at the Istanbul Telephone Office of the General Director for a while. She became famous with her first book “Sevgili Arsız Ölüm” (1983). Her other novels including “Berci Kristin Çöp Masalları” (1984), “Gece Dersleri” (1986), “Buzdan Kılıçlar” (1989), and “Aşk İşaretleri” (1995) have followed it and have been translated into English, German, French, Italian, Persian, and Dutch. Tekin started the “Edebiyat Evi” (Literature House) project in Bodrum, Gümüşlük. In 2010, she published the book “Rüyalar ve uyanışlar.”
