Barış Atay

Barış Atay was born as Barış Atay Mengüllüoglu in Wilhelmshaven, Germany in 1981. He graduated from the Theatre Department at Yeditepe University in 2009. In 2011 he entered the Master Program of the Cinema-TV Department at Kadir Has University. Atay started performing in many plays at the Antakya Can Art House when he was ten years old. He then performed as a professional actor at the Sanat İşliği Theatre and the Theatre Carnival. In 2011 he founded the Emek Sahnesi Theatre with Pınar Yıldırım, Caner Erdem and Gökhan Yıkılkan, and staged many plays. In 2007 Atay received the "Best Stage Design" in the 2007 Lions Awards and an Asaf Çigiltepe Special Award. Since 2006 he has acted in many films and TV series such as "Arka Sıradakiler" (TV series, 2007-2011), "Zinzirbozan" (film, 2007), "Hayat Devam Ediyor" (TV series, 2011-2012), "Şubat" (TV series, 2012), "Eksik" (film, 2015) and "Köpek" (film, 2015). He shot a short film "Yaşasın Polis" and directed a film entitled "Eksik" (2015). Atay currently continues his Master′s degree at Cinema-TV Department at Kadir Has University in Istanbul.
