Nilgün Efes

Nilgün Efes was born in Zonguldak in 1957. She finished primary, middle and high school in Zonguldak and graduated from the Faculty of Communication at Marmara University in Istanbul. After working as a journalist and public relations consultant for a while, Efes founded her own company in 1996. In 1997 she founded the workshop in Ereğli Kandilli and revitalized traditional regional hand weaving, “Elpek Bezi”, with raw material flax. She has increased the number of looms in village and contributed to the regional culture as well.
