Metin Peker was born in Ankara in 1950. He finished primary, middle, high school and college in Ankara. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Gazi University. He worked as an architect in Turkey and Libya. Peker started working on caricature in 1965. Among his famous works there are: “Çizgi”, “Yokluk” and “Kök”. His first solo exhibition was held by Semih Balcıoğlu in Ankara in 1973. Since 1995, Peker has served as a director in the Association of Cartoonist in Turkey, which has brought 62 caricature albums in the caricature world.
