Gülçin Aksoy was born in Samsun in 1965. After graduating from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Education at Ondokuz Mayıs University in 1986, she pursued her Master′s degree in painting at Mimar Sinan University. She completed her doctoral degree, proficiency in arts, at the same university in 1995. Since 1990 she has been teaching at the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Aksoy is a member of AtılKunst group. She has held solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Aksoy currently lives and works in Istanbul.
