Neş′e Erdok was born in Istanbul in 1940. Her mother Semai Sanlı and father Şinasi Erdok are of families originating in Niş and Leve Leskofça that resettled in Skopje and then, during the Balkan War, moved to Turkey. In 1957 - 1959, she attended the Fıstıkağacı Lycée for Girls in Üsküdar. In 1959 - 1963, she studied painting under Neşet Günal at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul. In 1965 - 1966, Erdok studied Spanish Language and Literature as well as the History of Spanish Civilization and art at the Escuela Eutral de Idromas, and the Escuela Diplomética in Madrid. In 1967 - 1972, she was sent to France by the Ministry of Education as training to join the faculty of the State Academy of Fine Arts. Erdok learned painting, fresco, and stained glass at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts under Prof. Chaplain Midy and Prof. Pierre Matthey de Etang. In 1974, her first detailed exhibition was held in Istanbul. Erdok received the title of professor in 1981. Since 1990, she teaches as an instructor at the Faculty of Fine Arts Painting Department, Mimar Sinan University.
