Dr. Lale Babaoğlu Balkış graduated from the Sociology Department at Boğaziçi University. She completed her Master′s degree in Art History at her alma mater, and doctoral degree in Art History at Istanbul University. Since 1996, Dr. Babaoğlu has been a member of the Department of History at Boğaziçi University. She has been the head of the Traugott Fuchs Archive in the Department of History at Boğaziçi University since 2008. Dr. Babaoglu has attended many conferences and symposiums, and has published articles on the historical image of the Turk. Her research interests include the Turkish image in Austrian visual culture, the German émigré scholars in Turkey, modern Western art, and contemporary Turkish art.
