Dr. Babür Kerim İncedayı was born in Istanbul in 1945. He graduated from the Department of Interior Design at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1969. In 1969-1974 he stayed in Rome and Milano, where he studied and worked industrial design. After returning to Turkey in 1975 İncedayı taught industrial design at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts until 1979. He then worked until 2000 at Mimar Sinan University, where he obtained his doctoral degree in the Faculty of Interior Architecture. In 1998 İncedayı started teaching at the Department of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design at Yeditepe University. He currently teaches at the Department of Interior Architecture in the Faculty of Architecture at Haliç University.
Dr. İncedayı has held solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions and fairs in Turkey and abroad. Some of his designs have been published in renowned international journals such as Interforniture, Interni, Casa Vogue, Vomo Vogue, and Arreda. İncedayı specially focuses on the reproduction of the traditional forms and values in the modern design and on transmitting them into today′s life. In 2007 he prepared a new design collection related to Mevlana in connection with the Year of Mevlana. In 2008-2014 he has designed 20 special objects for the Armaggan Art Stores in Istanbul. Dr. İncedayı currently continues his work in Istanbul.
