Bekir Eroloğlu

Bekir Eroloğlu was born in Hattusha, which was the capital of the Hittite Empire, in the district of Boğazkale of Çorum in 1977. When he was 7 years old, he was influenced by Hittite reliefs and began making sculpture. In 1995 he came to Istanbul and received art education with the help of Melda and Dr. Oğuz Akın′s family. In 2002, he got second prize in a competition, which was organized by Turkish Ministry of Culture. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Art of Mimar Sinan University as a guest student in 2002-2003. He won the first prize in several competitions which were held by Turkish Ministry of Culture between 2003 and 2006. He went to the workshop of Mehmet Aksoy to learn sculpture and continues to work as his assistant. Currently Eroloğlu continues to work at his own workshop, and has had solo exhibitions in Turkey and abroad.
