Nevin Arığ was born in 1961. She studied graphic design and graduated from the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts between 1978 and 1983. She then went to Brussels, and studied contemporary jewelry at the Institut des Arts et Metiers between 1995 and 1998. Arığ continued her study on silversmithing at the Institut voor Kunatambachten van het Gemeenschapaonderwika in Mechelen between 1998 and 2001; on fine jewelry at the Institut des Arts et Metiers in Brussels between 2002 and 2005. Arığ has had several solo exhibitions and participated in lots of group exhibitions in Europe. She received the “Shoonhaven Silver Award” in 2009. Currently, Arığ lives and continues her work near Brussels.
