Nil Selis Grebene was born in Ayvalık in 1949. She finished Izmir American College for Girls in 1970. She researched jewelry: jewelry materials, semi precious stones and jewelry designs. Between 1989 and 2007, she founded the Ün El Sanatları Ltd. Şti with other members. In there, Grebene designed and made jewelry. These jewelries were introduced and sold through the DÖSIM, which belongs to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She also designed and made accessories for Vakko, the Ottoman Department (Istanbul), Sümer Carpets (Ankara), GESAV (Ankara) and Atika (Ankara). In addition to it, Grebene prepared promotional goods for the TEMA foundation, the Çim Store, and the İnci Holding. She also made some products for the project “The Present Use of Traditional Turkish Needle Works”, which was prepared by GESAV. These products were used as promotional goods abroad by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
