Kader Yıldız

Kader Yıldız was born in Antalya in 1961. He moved to Istanbul in 1970s. He started working as an apprentice at a jewelry workshop in the Grand Bazaar at the age of fourteen and learned how to make jewelry. In 1987, he founded his own workshop in Istanbul. Yıldız went to abroad to research jewelry design and improved himself. He makes jewelry with his unique design, using different materials such as gold, silver, diamond, ivory, ebony and mother-of-pearl. In 1990, he won a prize and honorable mention award in a jewelry competition, organized by the World Jewelry Council and De Beers. After this competition, Yıldız received an offer from De Beers to be a design consultant and production technique advisor as well as a jury member of competitions. He served as a jury member in the AJUR 2004 Jewelry Design Competition, organized by the Jewelry Exporters Association. Yıldız currently continues his work in Istanbul.
