M. Altan Türe

Altan Türe was born in Mersin in 1947. He graduated from the Department of Classic Archaeology in the Faculty of Language, History and Geography at Ankara University. In addition, he studied graphic pictures, interior design and ceramics. He served as a director in Tokat and Aphrodisiac Museums. In 2000, he retired from the directorate of Manisa Province, Culture and Tourism Branch. Currently Türe is teaching in the Department of Jewelry and Jewelry design at the Vocational College, belonging to Dokuz Eylül University. He also serves as adviser on the work of jeweler and jewelry design. He published seven books about the history of jewelry and their techniques.
