Pamir Thompson was born in Istanbul and grew up in Izmir. She studied commercial art at Youngstown State University in Ohio. In 1976, she moved with her husband to Atlanta, and graduated from Georgia State University receiving a certificate in Art Education and Ceramic Art. Thompson then taught ceramics at the Art Station in Stone Mountain, Georgia for five years and in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. She has participated in numerous art exhibitions. Thompson served as a consultant for the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon on an exhibit in Ottoman art. Her work has been exhibited at Kennesaw State University (Nov. 2008) and in the Ottoman Art Show at Clayton State University (Feb. 2009). She was invited to participate in Congressman John Lewis′ Multicultural Art Festival. Thompson currently continues to live and work in Lilburn, Georgia.
