Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayrin Ersöz

Dr. Ayrin Ersöz was born in Kırcaali in Bulgaria in 1975. After graduating from the Department of Music and Performing Arts, Dance Program at Yıldız Technical University, she completed her Master′s degree at her alma mater in 2006 and doctoral degree at the Department of Theater Criticism and Dramaturgy of Istanbul University. In 2003-2005 Ersöz performed as a dancer in the CRR Dance Theater Company. In 2005-2007 she performed in the Istanbul Dance Theatre, with which she attended the Venice Dance Biennial twice. As a freelance choreographer, Ersöz has presented her own works in various venues in Turkey as well as Europe and USA. Her latest work “The body of desire” was performed in the 18th International Istanbul Theater Festival. She has written dance critiques and published many articles in various publications in Turkey. Ersöz currently serves as the director of the Dance Department at Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul.
