Lerna Babikyan

Lerna Babikyan was born in Istanbul in 1980. She graduated from the Adult Education Department in the Faculty of Education at Marmara University in 2001. She then studied Modern Dance and graduated as the first degree from the Department of Modern Dance in the Faculty of Art & Design at Yıldız Technical University in 2006. In 2010, she took the course of contemporary acting techniques from Şahika Tekand. Babikyan then took the course “Acting in front of camera” from Ayla Algan at TAL in 2012. She has attended many residency programs and various international theater and dance festivals in Turkey and abroad. Babikyan attended Brain Compatible Dance Education in the Creative Dance Center in Seattle in 2013. She has taught dance and performance to children in different kindergartens and schools since 2002. She has also given many dance workshops for adults since 2013. Babikyan is a member of the Cati-Contemporary Dance Artists Association and the Alternative Education Association, as well as a member of the European Democratic Education Organization. Babikyan pursues her Master′s degree in Modern Dance at the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University and continues her work in Istanbul and Berlin.
