Begüm Salihoglu

Begüm Salihoğlu was born in Istanbul and educated in New York. She graduated from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Integrated Design Curriculum in 2007. Since 2009 she has run her own couture and bridal label in Istanbul. Her concentration covers both fashion and product design with specific focus on the luxurious segment. From 2002-2008, Salihoğlu worked as an intern and at respectable labels such as Jill Stuart, Oxford Collections, Hussein Chalayan and Via Malaura Paris. In 2010, she prepared a special collection for Bilstore. In October 2011, she collaborated with Roman, a major Turkish ready-to-wear brand, and prepared evening dress collections under the name of Begüm Salihoğlu for Roman for fall 2011 and spring 2012. Salihoğlu was nominated to "Young Designer of the Year: Elle Style Awards" in 2011. She currently continues to design bridal and evening gowns at her showroom in Nişantaşı, Istanbul.
