Emre Ertürk was born in Istanbul in 1972. He has been painting since he was three years old. He has won several national prizes including an award with his painting “İstiklal Marşının Doğusu” in 1986. In 1992, he went to London and studied visual arts and design at the American University of Arts in London. He continued his studies on advertising and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. After his graduation, he has had over 20 solo exhibitions in Istanbul, Ankara and New York. In 1996, Ertürk designed “Emre Ertürk Collection” for Vakkorama shops and printed his paintings on T-shirts, handbags, belts and key holders. In the next year, Ertürk went to New York for his study. In 2000, he founded his brand “Emre New York” and designed bags, shoes and accessories. He was the official handbag designer for the 2006, 2007 and 2009 Oscars. Currently, his collections including handbags for ladies, babies and pet dogs, belts, shoes, caps, gloves, fashion accessories, home accessories, dog wears and dog accessories are launched not only in the USA but also in Japan, Canada, England, Italy and Denmark. Ertürk also writes as a fashion writer in the magazine “Food & Mood”.
