İdil Tarzi graduated from the Textile Department at Marmara University in 1993. She pursued her studies at the Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design in London. She completed her master’s degree at the Domus Academy in Italy in 1995. In the same year, she received Beymen Academia Award and her design products began selling in Beymen stores. She is the first Turkish designer who was invited to the International Intercolor Organization. Tarzi served as a creative director in the Türkmen Holding Concorde Textile Factory; as a marketing director in Vakkorama. Her collections are launched both in Turkey and many showrooms in abroad. Since 2002, Tarzi is an advisor of Eke Textile’s “Hamam” brand. In 2003, she was awarded as “the most successful woman in Turkey” by the Oriflaim. Tarzi has also given many seminars and conferences on fibers, fabrics and pret a Porte to Turkish textile companies. She is a board member of the Mahmud Tarzi Foundation, which was established for helping children and women in Afghanistan.
