Ümit Ünal

Ümit Ünal began working in his father’s “Master Craft” textile / fashion workshop at his age of eighth. This Istanbul based workshop was where Ünal honed his technical skills and knowledge of the industry. He graduated from the Department of Archeology and Art History at Istanbul University in 1989; the Textile Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Marmara University in 1993. Ünal currently runs his private atelier in Istanbul, where he designs and creates his pieces with a team of 15 artists and craftsmen. His designs can be found worldwide in 13 countries. Ünal served as the Turkish delegate in ICC (International Color Commission) between 1996 and 2007. He has presented fashion shows in Athens, Portugal, Bulgaria and Tokyo on international basis.
