Adnan Özer was born in Gazioğlu village of Tekirdağ in 1957. He graduated from the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul University. Since 1979, he has worked as a publisher. He published and worked for many magazines such as “Yeni Türkü”, “Üç Çiçek seçkisi”, “Stüdyo İmge”, “Yeryüzü Konukları” “Düşler” “Era” and “E”. His poems have been published in many magazines including “Gösteri”, “Milliyet Sanat”, “Sanat Emeği”, “Türk Dili”, “Varlık”, “Yazko Edebiyat”, and translated into English, German, Macedonian, Romanian, and Spanish. Besides working as a poet and publisher, Özer has translated Spanish poetry books of Pablo Neruda and Octavio Paz into Turkish. Özer received a fist award in a poetry competition, which was held at the Istanbul State Fine Arts Academy. In 1991 and 1992, he won Cemal Süreya Poetry Awards for his work “Zaman Haritası”. In 2016 he won a 2nd Dağlarca Poetry Award for his poetry book "Yol Şarkıları." Özer currently continues his work in Istanbul.
