Adnan Özyalçıner was born in Istanbul in 1934. He finished Istanbul High School for Boys. He studied Turcology in the Faculty of Letter at Istanbul University. He worked as a proof reader in Cumhuriyet News Paper for 20 years. His first story was published in “Demet” magazine in 1953. Later he continued to publish his stories in magazines including Onüç, Mavi and Seçilmiş Hikâyeler. Between 1974 and 1989, Özyalçıner served as a general secretary in Writers Syndicate of Turkey. In 1981, he was selected the second director in YAZKO. He also worked as a desk editor in literary reviews such as Yazko Edebiyat, Yazko Çeviri and Hürriyet Gösteri. As of today, Özyalçıner continues his work in Istanbul.
