Aydın Boysan was born in Istanbul in 1921. After finishing Pertevniyal High School in 1945, he studied at Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 1945. Boysan worked as an architect until 1999. He was a founding member of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey (Türkiye Mimarlar Odası). He also served as a board member, first general secretary and president in the Istanbul Brunch of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey. Between 1957 and 1972, Boysan taught at Istanbul Technical University. He has won many awards in national and international architectural competitions. In order to publish his books, Boysan founded Bas Publications in 1984. Between 1984 and 1993, he worked as a journalist and columnist for newspapers such as Hürriyet (10 years) and Akşam (3 years).
