Betül Dünder was born in Istanbul in 1975. She graduated from the Sociology Department in the Faculty of Letters at Anadolu University. She completed her Master′s degree at the Sociology Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Her first poem was published in Varlık. It has been followed by her many poetms and writings, which have been published in various magazines such as Varlık, Yasakmeyve, Özgür Edebiyat, Edebiyatta Üç Nokta, and Sonra Edebiyat. In 2002, Dünder received an award in the 2002 Yaşar Nayır Youth Awards. In 2005, she won a jury award in the 2005 Rıfat Ilgaz Poetry Awards and the 2005 A. Zekâi Özger Awards.
Her first poetry book "Ayna Yorgunluğu" was published by Mayıs Publications. "Başka Dünyalar İçinde" (İlaros Publications) and "Şairler Arasında Kadın Olmak: Konuşmalar Kitabı" (Paradoks Publications) were published in 2013. Her poems have been translated into English, German, French, Bulgarian, Azerbaijanese (Azeri), and Zaza language. Currently, Dünder teaches philosophy at a state high school in Istanbul.
