Gökçenur Ç. (Çelebioğlu) was born in Istanbul in 1971. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. He continued his Master’s degree in commerce at Istanbul University. Since 1990, his poems, writings and translations have been published in many magazines such as “Atika”, “Ç.N.”, “Edebiyat ve Eleştiri”, “İblis”, “İnsan”, “Mavi Liman”, “Özgür Edebiyat”, “Poetik’us”, “Sözcükler”, “Şiir-lik”, “Şiir Oku”, “Yasakmeyve”, “Yeni Biçem”, “Şiir Oku”, “Başka”, “E”, and “Üç Nokta”. Çelebioğlu has translated Wallace Stevens, Paul Auster and an anthology of modern Japanese haiku into Turkish. He is on the editorial board of Ç.N. (Translator′s Note), a magazine dedicated to poetry in translation. In addition, he is a director of Word Express, an international poetry translation project organized by Literature Across Frontiers. His poetry is published in LAF’s online translation site Transcript. His first poetry collection “Her Kitabın El Kitabı” (Handbook of Every Book) came out in 2006. In 2007, he received First Book Special Prize for his book within the 2007 Arkadaş Z. Özger Poem Award. His second book “Söze Mezar” was published by Yitik Ülke publications in 2010. Currently, Çelebioğlu is preparing an anthology of modern American poetry.
