Heyecan Veziroğlu was born in New Jersey, the US and raised in Turkey. She began writing for ‘24 Hour,’ publication of the Society of Journalists, in Turkey (‘24 Saat’ Gazeteciler Cemiyeti) when she was just 12 years old. She studied international affairs, media, Broadcast TV Techniques, political sciences, and English literature. Veziroğlu is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists in the US. She received fellowships from Salzburg Seminar and joined many international congresses as a press member, a political science adviser, and a poet. She has served as Protocol Assistant to the President of Turkey in 1997. She has lectured and debated on global affairs at international congresses.
Veziroğlu received an Award of Excellence for her outstanding paper at the 26th International Congress on Arts and Communications. Her effort to promote a positive image for Turkey abroad also gained her praise from EU Commissioner Olli Rehn in 2005. As a Turkish woman listed on Baron’s Who’s Who Encyclopedia’s 500 Leaders of Influence in Europe, and various other international reference books, Veziroğlu has also been featured in several U.S. National Library of Poetry publications. She has received awards for her insightful and moving poetry and her international presentations on international affairs.
Her one-woman poetic theatre show "Music of Language" both in Turkish and English attracts a great deal of appreciation when she performs. Veziroğlu has appeared on national Turkish TRT and TV networks, and Turkish-American TV (Episode21, December 17, 2006)
Veziroglu has retained an active fascination with media, arts, theatre, cultural public diplomacy, academia and TV-Journalism.
