Muzaffer Erdost was born in Tokat, Artova in 1932. He graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Ankara University in 1956. He started writing poems in 1948. Since 1951 Erdost has written various essays, critiques, stories about Turkish history, agriculture, fascism and democracy. He worked as the head of the editorial board in the reviews Pazar Postası (1957-59) and Ülke (1960). In 1958 Erdost started publishing business with the Açık Oturum Publications. In 1964 he managed the Sol Publications until 1971, when he was sent to prison for violating the Article 142. After losing his brother İlhan in 1980, who was the owner of the Onur Publications, Muzaffer began including his brother′s name "İlhan" in his own name. He is currently the owner and the director of the Sol-Onur Publications. His poems, short stories and political articles have been published in many reviews such as Hisar, Yeni Ufuklar, Seçilmiş Hikâyeler, Açık Oturum (May 1955), Kaynak, Mavi, Yön, Türk Solu, Dost Ülke, and Papirüs. Erdost served as the chairman of the Association for Human Rights Ankara Branch in 1989.
