Necmi Zeka was born in Istanbul in 1963. After finishing at Istanbul German High School, he graduated from the Department of Political Science at Boğaziçi University. He completed his master′s degree at Leicester University and pursued his doctoral degree at Northwestern University, but discontinued. He has published his poems, writings, and translation works in various magazines and journals including "Varlık," "Adam Öykü," "Kitaplık," "Hayalet Gemi," "Kaşgar," and "E." Zeka has published many poetry books such as "20 Ş" (1993), "Roma′ya Varış" (1994), "Yavru Aslandan Konu Komşuya Postmodernizm" (1990); and compilation books including "Batı Almanya′da Alternatif Hareket" (1985) and "Postmodernizm" (1990). In 2002, Zeka had his first solo exhibition "Devamlı Devamsız" in Istanbul. In 2003, he received Antalya Altın Portakal Poetry Award. Zeka currently lives and works in Istanbul.
