Hakan Bıçakçı

Hakan Bıçakcı was born in Istanbul in 1978. His first writings were published in Dört Mevsim (literature magazine). He graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences at Bilkent University in 2001. He published his first novel Romantik Korku (Romantic Fear) in 2002, his second novel Rüya Günlüğü (Dream Diary) in 2003, and his third novel Boş Zaman (Spare Time) in 2004: his first story book Bir Yaz Gecesi Kâbusu (A Midsummer’s Nightmare) was published in 2005, and his fourth novel Apartman Boşluğu (The Apartment Shaft) in 2008.

Between 2005 and 2006, Bıçakçı wrote for literature magazine Picus. Between 2006 and 2007, he wrote for Brunch (Sunday magazine of Akşam Newspaper). He has been writing for Akşam’s book magazine since 2006. Bıçakçı has also written for several magazines and newspapers on literature, cinema and popular culture. In addition, he has worked on movie scripts for Asya Film. Currently, he lives and works as a copy writer in Istanbul.
