Assistant Prof. Dr. Yalçın Tosun

Yalçın Tosun was born in Ankara in 1977. He is a lawyer, academician as well as a story writer. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Galatasaray University, he completed his doctoral degree in Law at the same university. He currently works as an assistant professor at Istanbul Bilgi University.

Besides his academic career, Dr. Tosun is a writer. He published his first story book entitled "Anne, Baba ve Diğer Ölümcül Şeyler" (Yapı Kredi Publications, 2009), for which he received a Notre Dam de Sion Literary Award in 2011. In 2012 he won a Sait Faik Story Award with his second book entitled "Peruk Gibi Hüzünlü." Tosun published his third book "Dokunma Dersleri" (Yapı Kredi Publications, 2013). His stories, literary articles and interviews have been published in many journals such as Adam Öykü, Notos, Kitap-lık, Roll and Radikal Kitap. Tosun’s poem "Peruk Gibi Hüzünlü" was composed by Mabel Matiz and included his album. In 2016, Tosun received a 71st Yunus Nadi Story Award for his book "Bir Nedene Sunuldum." Dr. Tosun currently continues his work in Istanbul.
