Onur Caymaz was born in Istanbul in 1977. He graduated from the Electric-Computer Department in the Faculty of Technical Education at Marmara University. His writings have been published in many magazines and newspapers such as Adam Sanat, Adam Öykü, E, Varlık, Öküz, Virgül, Radikal Kitap, Cumhuriyet Kitap, and Eşik Cini. In 1999, he won first place with his story Hayalperistanbul in a competition, which was held by Gençlik Publication House. In 2000, he received the Orhon Murat Arıburnu Poem Award for his book Kah ve Rengi, which was later published by Hera Publications. In 2002, his story Nokta won second prize in the Haldun Taner Story Awards. In 2004, Doğan Books published two of his books: Seni Hatırlatan Yıldızlar, a novel, and Bak Hala Çok Güzelsin, a poem which won the Bahçet Aysan Poem Award in 2005. In 2005, Caymaz published his story book, Sanki Yarın Nisan. In 2008, he published another story book, Kalbin ve Tenin Bütün İstekleri through Sel Publications. In 2009, he published his third poem book, Yaz Tarifesi by Metis Publication house. Currently, Caymaz lives and works as a proof reader at an advertising company in Istanbul, and writes for Birgün newspapers.
