Zeynep Uzunbay was born in Karaözü, the district of Kayseri in 1961. She finished primary, middle and Vocational High School for Health. She served as a nurse in Turhal and Tokat. In 1985, Uzunbay graduated from the Faculty of Letter in Gazi University. Her poems have been published in many magazines such as Varlık, Yeni Biçem, Pencere, Damar and Dize. They have also been translated into Italian and English. After teaching in several schools, she retired in 2006. As of today, Uzunbay continues to write poems and articles on poems in Izmir.
