Naile Akıncı was born in Van in 1923. She graduated from the Painting Department at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1952. While studying, she learned painting from Nurullah Berk, Bedri Rahmi, Şefik Bursalı and Leopold Levy. She participated in many exhibitions of Turkish Painters Group (1953-1979) and state painting exhibitions (1954-1981). In 1964, she had his first solo exhibition at the Municipality Gallery in Istanbul. Akıncı held more than 43 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. She received many awards for her paintings. In 2005, she had her 43th solo exhibition at the Evin Art Gallery and received the Sedat Simavi Award. Her works can be seen in many national and international museum collections, including the collections of Kashiwazaki Turkish Culture Small Town Foundation Museum, State Museum of Painting and Sculpture, Istanbul Modern Art Museum, and of the Izmir State Museum of Painting and Sculpture; and in many private collections in Turkey, France, the US, Japan, Greece, Israel, Germany, England, Holland, and Switzerland. Akıncı passed away in Istanbul in 2014.
