Yavuz Şeker
(1943-2015)

Yavuz Şeker was born in Samsun in 1943. He started his career as an actor at the Istanbul Municipality Theatre in 1961. In 1963 he left the Istanbul Municipality Theatre and performed with several private theatre groups such as Ankara Actors′ Union, Istanbul Alliance Theatre and Gülriz Sururi & Engin Cezzar Theatre. In 1974 Şeker joined the Istanbul Municipality Theatre again and performed not only in various plays but also in many films, TV series and commercial films. He also acted as a voice actor. In 2015 Şeker received Ismail Dümbüllü Award for his performance in the play "Bir Yaz Gecesi Rüyası." He also won the "Best Supporting Actor of the Year" award for his performance in the same play in the 19th Afife Theater Awards. In April 2015 Yavuz Şeker passed away in Istanbul.
