Ayberk Pekcan was born in Mersin in 1970. He spent his childhood in Adana and Mersin. He graduated from the Theatre Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mersin University. He then started his career as an actor in Istanbul. He has played many roles in many films including “Ali’Nin Sekiz Günü,” “Saç,” “Kış Uykusu,” and “Mustang” as well as TV series such as "Ihlamurlar Altında," "Yaprak Dökümü," "Kurtlar Vadisi," "Keşanlı Ali Destanı,” “Bir Aşk Hikayesi,” and “Diliriş: Ertuğrul.”
Pekcan has received many national and international awards. For his role in the film "Saç," he received a "Golden Tulip" award in the 30th Istanbul International Film Festival (2011), "Fipresci" award in the 27 Portugal International Festroia Film Festival, "Netpac" award in the Kazakistan Eurasia Film Festival, the "Best Actor" award in the 44th SIYAD Turkish Cinema Awards, and a special mention award in the International Gezici Festival. In 2012, Pekcan won the "Best Supporting Actor" award in the 23rd International Ankara Film Festival and the "Best Actor Award" in the 12th International Izmir Film Festival for his role in the film "Aşk ve Devrim." In 2015 he received the "Best Actor Award" for his role in the film "Kış Uykusu" in the 47th SIYAD Turkish Cinema Awards. Pekcan currently continues his work in Istanbul.
