Ali Özgentürk was born in Adana in 1945. He studied philosophy and sociology at Istanbul University. He started working as a camera assistant in the film sector, and began assistant of famous directors such as Atık Yılmaz and Yılmaz Güney. In 1979, he shot his first feature film “Hazal” and received many awards for his work. Currently, Özgentürk continues to work as a director, screenwriter, producer, and actor.
