Deniz Gamze Ergüven

Deniz Gamze Ergüven was born in Ankara in 1978 and grew up in France. She studied Literature and African History. After completing her Master′s degree in Literature and African History in Johannesburg, she studied film directing at La Fémis in France. In 2006 she shot a graduation short film "Une Goutte D′eau," which was selected by the Cinefoundation of the Cannes Film Festival and awarded at the Locarno FF. After her graduation from La Fémis, Ergüven shot two feature films "Tales of Virture" and "Kings." In 2015, she shot a feature film "Mustang" and received "Grand Prix" at the Odessa Film Festival. Ergüven currently lives and works in Paris.
