Art Profile	:	Duygu Sağıroğlu was born in Trabzon in 1932. After finishing at Galatasaray High School, he studied in the Faculty of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University. In 1956, Sağıroğlu started working as a decorator and graphic artist at the Ankara Küçük Sahne Theatre. He worked as a theater decorator for a long time. He was one of the founders of the Association of Theater Actors, and of the Cep Theatre. He then worked as a film director, screenwriter and art director. In 1965, Sağıroğlu directed his first film “Bitmeyen Yol.” In 1979, he began teaching at the Institute of Cinema and TV at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts. Since the 1990s, Sağıroğlu has concentrated on decoration work in theaters. Between 1990 and 1997, he decorated many theaters such as “Derin Bir Soluk Al”, “Bir Delinin Hatıra Defteri”, “İnsanlarım”, “Çöplük”, “İçimdeki Çığlık”, “Hysteria”, “Abelard et Heloise”, and “Oyun Karıştı.” He received “the Best Decorator” Award and the “Muhsin Ertuğrul Effort" Prize from Dokuz Eylül University (2000). Currently, Sağıroğlu teaches at the Department of Cinema-TV at Mimar Sinan University.
