Görkem Şarkan

Görkem Şarkan was born in Istanbul in 1985. He graduated from the Theatre Department at Istanbul University State Conservatory in 2013. He founded his theatre group Serbest Bölge in 2010. He has written, directed, and performed in the play "Çat," which brought him a nomination for the best actor award in the Sadri Alışık Theater Awards. In 2011, Şarkan received the "Playwright of the Year" award in the Tobav Awards for his play "Yok Oğlum Biz Evdeyiz." Şarkan was also nominated for the "Playwright of the Year 2012" in the 2012 Theatre Magazine Awards. In 2013, he directed his first feature film "Nergis Hanım." In 2014, he won the Seyfi Teoman Best Film Award for "Nergis Hanım" in the 33rd Istanbul Film Festival.
