Görkem Yeltan was born in Nazilli, Aydın in 1977. She graduated from the Theater Department at Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1999. She started acting at Ali Poyrazoğlu′s Theatre while studying at the Faculty of Literature of Istanbul University. Yeltan acted in many plays with various theatres such as Ali Poyrazoğlu Theatre (1993-1996), Theatre Istanbul (1995-1996), Theatre Ti (1996-1997), Bakırköy Municipality Theatre (1997-1998) and Hazanfer Özcan Gönül Ülkü Theatre (1998-1999). Yeltan has also acted in many films and TV series. She has received several awards including the "Best Actress Award" in the 19th Golden Boll Film Festival. Besides acting, Yeltan began writing books for children in 2001. Since then she has written nine Children′s books and albums. She currently continues her work in Istanbul.
