Hasan Özgen

Hasan Özgen was born in Milas in 1947. He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1968 and received flight training for a while. He published a culture annual "Gök senin" in 1968. In 1972 he left the Air Forces and worked at TRT News Center in 1974-1982. He founded MTV A.Ş with Suha Ann in 1983. Özgen then established the Cinema Television Center in 1987 and Nöbetçi Agency in 1995. He has continued working as a cameraman, visual director, scenarist, and film director. He has given classes on documentary cinema at several schools such as the Müjdat Gezen Culture and Art Center and Academy Istanbul.  Özgen has also worked as consultant in the field of social projects and communication. Besides film works, Özgen has written poems and prose in various magazines. He is the director of "B+" magazine.

Özgen is a founder and executive board member of the Çekül Foundation. He is also a member of the Union Of Historical Towns and the Turkish Journalists Association; a founder member of the Milas Culture Foundation and the Association of Documentary Filmmakers in Turkey.
