Reis Çelik

Reis Çelik was born in Ardahan in 1961. After finishing primary and middle school education, he moved to Istanbul with his family. He studied music and theater and graduated from Istanbul Municipality Conservatory. In 1982, he started working as an economic and political journalist. He also prepared various TV programs. Çelik then started shooting documentary films. He has shot more than 600 advertising films and political campaign films. In 1992, he shot Nazım Hikmet’s documentary film “Nazım Hikmet Ziyaretçin Var”. He received three awards for his first long film “Işıklar Sönmesin”. Currently, Çelik lives and works in Istanbul.
