Selim Evci was born in Istanbul in 1975. After graduating from Maltepe University with a cinema degree in 2003, he continued his master′s degree in the Division of Cinema at Beykent University in Istanbul. Evci gave classes on film production at Istanbul University and workshops on films at Koc University in Istanbul. Currently, he serves as an executive member of IFSAK (Istanbul Photographers and Cinema Amateurs′ Association) and the director of International Annual Akbank Short Film Festival. Evci worked as an instructor at the IFSAK Short Film Workshop which he founded. He has also worked as an advisor in Akbank Short Film Workshop. In 2006 Evci established Evci Film Production. He currently teaches short film production lessons at Maltepe University. He wrote, directed, produced and edited his first feature film "Iki Cizgi" (Two Lines), which made its world premiere at the 65th Venice International Film Festival and the 23rd International Film Critics’ Week. "Two Lines" was also screened in many national and international film festivals. Evci directed his second feature film “Winds” (Rüzgarlar), which was supported by the Hubert Bals Fund.
