Engin Akyürek (actor)

Engin Akyürek was born in Ankara in 1981. He graduated from the Department of History at Ankara University in 2002. In 2004, Akyürek attended the TV program "Türkiye′nin Yıldızları" and won the first place. He then acted a supporting role in the TV series "Yabancı Damat" from 2004-2007. In 2006 he debuted in Zeli Demirkubuz′s film “Kader." Akyürek received the “Most Promising Actor Award” in the 39th Turkish Cinema Awards and in the Contemporary Cinema Actors′ Association Awards (ÇASOD). Since then he has acted in several films and many TV series such as "Bir Bulut Olsam" and "Fatmagül′ün Suçu Ne." He has received many awards including "Best Actor Prize" in the Seoul International Drama Awards 2015 (“Kara Para Aşk”). In 2007 he performed in the theater play "Romantika Muzical," directed by Sakir Gurzumar. Akyürek currently continues his work in Istanbul.
