Meltem Cumbul was born in Izmir in 1970. After finishing at Izmir Turkish College, she graduated from the Drama Department at Mimar Sinan University, State Conservatory. She then started her career as an actress at the Shakespeare Company in London. After returning to Turkey, she began starring on TV series and hosting radio and TV show programs. She has also acted in many films. In 1997, she presented her own TV program “The Meltem Cumbul Show”. For her role in the film “Abdülhamit Düşerken”, Cumbul received the Best Actress Award in the Antalya Altın Portakal Film Festival (2003), and the Best Actress Award from the Association of Modern Cinema Actors (2004). She played in the musical “Comedy of Miracles”. Cumbul served as one of the jury members in the 26th Istanbul International Film Festival.
