Sevil Demirci

Sevil Demirci was born in 1966 in Iskenderun. She studied primary and High School in Canakkale. She studied economics at Istanbul University between 1982 and 1986. After her graduation, Demirci assisted Ahmet Leventoğlu at the Theater Studio as an Assistant Director on the play "Derin bir Soluk Al". She worked in an art group for the film "Cozulmeler" and "Yengec Sepeti". Demirci worked as a producer in the movie "Ali". After working on TV advertisements in different positions for a year, she established the production company Yeni Sinemacilar with Serdar Akar and Onder Cakar. They have produced four feature movies, including “Gemide” (1998) and “Laleli′de bir Azize” (1999). In 2006, Demirci won Jury Special Prize for “Takva” in the Antalya Altın Portakal Film Festival.
