Yakup Tekintangaç

Yakup Tekintangaç was born in Ağrı in 1980. After graduating from the Chemistry Department in the Faculty of Science at Yüzüncü Yıl University, he went to the US to pursue his Master′s degree in Biophysics. Tekintangaç studied scenario at Sen-Der for three years. He also worked with Hüseyin Kuzu as a member of a group project for two years. Tekintangaç joined cinema workshops in the Mesopotamia Cinema Collective for 4 years. He has shot several short films including "Azad" (2015), "Polistan" (2014), and "Qapsûl" (2013). He has attended various national and international film festivals and received many awards. In 2016 he received the 71st Yunus Nadi Short Film Award. Tekintangaç currently continues shooting films and teaches short film scenario at the Sine-Merkez Academy.
