Serra Yılmaz was born in Istanbul in 1954. She graduated from the Psychology Department at Universite de Caen in France. She started her career at the Dostlar Theatre, and has worked as an actress, assistant general art director, and dramaturge. She staged Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s play “Diğerlerinin Adı Ali” at the City Theatre. She has acted in many films and TV series in Turkey and abroad. Besides being an actress, Yılmaz is a professional interpreter specializing in Italian, French and Turkish. She served as an interpreter when Pope Benedict XVI. visited Turkey.
